Soham Grammarians - Alec Cockerton

Soham Grammarian Summer 1951

We wish to express our deepest sympathy with Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Cockerton, who lost their son Alec, this term. The funeral was on May 19th; the School sent a beautiful wreath and was represented by Mr. H. M. Twiselton (Staff) and R. H. Warren and J. R. Currie (Prefects).

Alec Cockerton was a pupil at the School from 1943 to 1948, and on leaving took up a post with an insurance company. Hoping to make this his career, he took a course of studies followed by examinations.

He was closely associated with the work of the Methodist Church and was a member of the Ely Male Voice Choir.

[Alec has not so far been identified on the 1946 School photo.]
