Frank Haslam, Editor writes: Duncan Wright, John Norman and Fred Hockley did not return from WWII: Duncan was murdered after being taken POW on D-Day. Fred baled out of his fighter over Japan on 15th August, was taken POW, and although the Emperor had made his surrender broadcast, Fred was brutally executed. Bertram Covill was awarded the BEM for Gallantry whist serving as a naval rating in a defensively equipped merchantman in the Battle of the Atlantic in 1941.
