Soham Grammarians - Trip to Davos, Switzerland 1962

from the Spring 1963 Soham Grammarian

SWITZERLAND, 1962

The School party, in the capable hands of Messrs Hart, Ades, Bozeat, and Sherrington, set out for Davos-Platz on 29th August. The party arrived the following day, after an interesting journey by various means of transport.

Of the six days we were there, four were spent touring various places of interest, the most eventful trip being to nearby Leichtenstein.

The other three days brought a visit to St. Moritz and its beautiful lake, a most interesting trip up a nearby mountain, of which part of the journey down was made by foot, and a wonderful view of two notable gorges.

Our two free days were spent in various ways, such as buying gifts and souvenirs the more energetic members of the party also doing some early morning mountain climbing, swimming and playing crazy golf.

We reluctantly departed after lunch on 6th September, following an enjoyable holiday.

We would like to express our gratitude and thanks to all the masters for making such a memorable and interesting holiday possible.
